The Psychosomatic Way
....... The Feldenkrais Method can be excellently integrated into the context of modern psychosomatic therapy approaches and also into the findings of neurological research .....
In the following I call 'psycho-somatic' all methods that help the body and the mind to more clarity in self-awareness.
Better perception, being able to make distinctions, developing choices means change.
Gerald Hüter, a popular brain researcher, said: "If a ninety-year-old man falls in love with a Chinese woman and moves to China, he will learn Chinese. "
Emotional impulses are important to get a change going, new challenges; travel, new people, new love, new thrills, borderline experience if not borderline or sometimes, always related to oneself and one's feelings.
These are the impulses that can be sought outside. Good food, shopping, creative activities, what does my inner child want, am I in contact with it? - also experiences that are afflicted with feelings that are called negative, mental and physical effort, more demanding constellations of relationships, discussions, quarrels.
This requires impulses from within, for example via psychosomatic methods such as Feldenkrais, Family Constellation or Systemic Constellation, Somatic Experiencing, Myofascial Release and much more, as well as meditation facing my own fears ( What is this difficult moment doing to me? What are my inner voices saying to me?), psychotherapy, sexual therapy and Astrological Consultation. In this way, you can gradually unfold as a human being, and as yourself is, not how it is expected of you, and how you might expect of yourself because of it.... This will probably lead to conflicts, which one has not consciously perceived before in any case, but which serve the representation of one's own truth, one's own will, one's own balance, one's own health. Life will probably not become easier, but more worth living.
With a self-image, about working on yourself and life experience brought a little closer to completeness, one can better assess oneself, regulate oneself better, and then draw boundaries or choose paths differently, so that one does not come up against unpleasant boundaries so quickly or has to cross them in order to exist - or can also consciously perceive that one is currently moving in the border area and needs a break soon.
Life will gradually sort itself out differently, in small compatible steps.
Why should bodywork change my thinking and my life?
Two short experiments:
1. calculate 5x18 in your head and feel whether a slight tension builds up in your head and neck and perhaps in the rest of your body.
2.Think of a person you would like to see again soon and feel whether a slight tension builds up in your chest or in the rest of your body.
The way a person walks can sometimes tell you directly what his attitude is toward life. Does he walk crouched, does he walk hurriedly, does he build up willfully, does he play conviction and joy. Acting, after all, works with these means of expression.
Cognition and emotion also create movement in the body.
If you can change a person's movements through bodywork, so that he walks differently without simulating it, he will also find solutions to change his attitude towards life. Then he will think differently.
